Cuba Travel Ban to Lift?
Submitted by Travel Reporters on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 09:08
Suggestions are flying today that the travel ban to Cuba may be lifted, and by a bipartisan group of senators no-less.
Soon may be the day of sunny vacations to the island of Cuba, complete with hand-rolled cigars and authentic Cuban music.
The lift won't be as simple as allowing airlines to fly direct. For example, currently, if you're a U.S. resident, your ATM card won't work in Cuba. Cuba's fun, but not without cash.
The embargo is still a different story as well. Just because you might be able to travel to Cuba doesn't mean you can bring back those cigars, so don't make that kind of an assumption.
This is all still talk at the moment. Be looking for more news.
