Golfing in Central France

Inundated with sweeping vineyards, rustic chateaux and picturesque gardens, the central region of France has become a firm favourite with families seeking a slice of authentic French rural charm. Combine this with its rich cultural history and thriving golfing facilities, it is no wonder the region has become such an alluring holiday destination.

Whilst the coastal areas remain the more predictable choice for golfing enthusiasts, the central region offers a number of excellent courses in its own right, as well as a more authentic French experience. The area of Poitou-Charentes boasts beautiful landscapes, quaint villages and towns, whilst the quintessentially French region of Burgundy is famed for its wine – the locally produced Beaujolais and Chablis being particular favourites.

Here is a rundown of some of the best courses for Golf in Central France:

With its challenging water hazards Chailly is not one for beginners, but even the average golfer cannot fail to be impressed by its breathtaking natural surroundings.

2. HOTEL GOLF DE SAINT-JUNIEN 3* Les Jouberties, near Saint-Junien, 23 miles West of Limoges
